"Support Our Troops" yellow ribbon magnets not necessarily supporting our troops...
One thing that I really don't like? Those magnetic yellow ribbons on everyone's car. It's not that I don't support the troops, I do, it's just that they have become more distracting, annoying, and ugly. People should find other creative ways to help support the troops. Just because you have a yellow ribbon on your car doesn't mean anything. How about writing a check to the local Veterans Association or the local National Reserves?
Well it turns out most of that money spent on those magnets is not going to the troops. Duh! However, who am I to talk, I wear a yellow Lance Armstrong bracelet and expect the money to go to a cancer foundation. But it's a bracelet, people can't see how dumb I am... EVERYTIME I drive to the mall.
Here is a link to a story about a woman who figured out that the money is not going where she thought.

Just like if you have a yellow bracelet on your wrist, yeah that doesn't mean anything! Gotcha!!!!
I already said I was dumb for wearing one, if, I believed it all went to charities. It seems to me the people who buy the yellow ribbons believe all the money is going to help support the troops. But then again, who am I to make assumptions.
You bought them and are wearing one b/c you thought it was cool Face it...!
Yes, I am "facing" it. I am wearing the brcaelet, and bought it originally for TWO reasons. 1. Yes, it was cool. 2. I really thought that all of my $10 dollar donation for 10 bracelets would go to a foundation (turns out, that only "proceeds" go to the foundation, and thats a tricky word: "proceeds").
However, I bought 10 and gave nine away. When someone would offer to pay me for the bracelet I would decline and ask them to just buy ten more and give them to ten other people. I did this in hopes that people would donate to the foundation, not to make 10 more people "cool".
But thanks for your comments "Ms. Anonymous". Wink-Wink. Hahaha.
