WOW!

So a woman walks into our office today and asks if we have classrooms in our area. I said "No, not in this area, but this is the second floor, there are classrooms on the first floor." I didn't think anything of it, it's a common mistake. So the woman says thank you, and turns to walk away, pauses and turns back. Then she says "May I ask, is this you...," pointing to my name plate on my desk. "Yes?" I replied feeling a bit confused for a second. She continues "... are you, Cape Verdean?..." Once again, I reply, "yes?" Still a bit confused on where this is going, I thought to myself, this woman kind of looks Cape Verdean, she is probably just going to tell me she is. So, then she says "What is your mom's first name?" I said "Rosa." She then replied with a very interesting bit of information, she said "I was your mom's nurse when you were born at St. Margaret's Hospital". WOW! Instantly I felt there was some sort of connection. Not really between me and her, but, I swear I had this thought, idea, or conversation before with someone. Maybe my mom? My mom did run into someone last year randomly while I was driving with her in the old neighborhood, but, I can't remember if it was this woman or an old friend? Or maybe I even met the woman before, but, why would she introduce herself again? We shook hands and exchanged some brief banter and she was on her way to the classroom.

And the day has started off interesting. I wonder what is next? Should I play the lottery as Russ suggested? Ah, we will just chalk this up to another story in "The Life and Times of Curtis... and Anna!"
