Red Sox/Stanley Cup Curse Coincidence? (UPDATE)

I just read this post and it seems eerily correct (I will check with Dr. O, to see if the influenza epidemic truly occurred then, and keep you posted).

But then, last fall, the Red Sox won another series and, sure enough, hockey fans must now again suffer a Cupless season..."

UPDATE: Dr. O is out of town and a quick google search confirmed the date of the great influenze epidemic.
