Apple Laptop Craze in VA

Wow... who knew Apple Laptops were THIS popular? Well, then again, they are being sold for a fraction of their value. The Henrico County school board decided to switch plans... kind of. They will still be offering high school students laptops during the school year (each student is handed a laptop to do school assignments, in class work, etc.), but they are switching from Apple to Dell (Why? That's a whole other story).

So what do they do with the first 1000 Apple laptops, which were lent to students for the past 4 years? Sell them for $50 of course. Yes... $50! At first I wanted one, actually I want about a dozen. They were available to the public initially, but there was a LARGE inquiry about these $50 laptops and the school board decided to only have a sale for those who lived in the county. Ah, still a big mistake. As you can see in the picture above... $50 is a great deal for a laptop, no matter what OS it is. The school board moved it's sales off site to a larger facility (Richmond International Speedway) to handle the crowd. Well, they were selling 1,000, and police at the event estimated about 12,000 people there. As we all know, I'm mathematical genius... but... those numbers spell trouble.

I can't wait to see what they do with the 20,000 + they have left.
